A METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE AGE OF COSMIC RAYS IN THE GALAXY

摘要: 本文从物理过程来阐明高能天文观测站HEAO-3卫星上的丹麦-法国的同位素谱仪测得的锰元素相对于铁元素的含量随能量增加比其他亚铁元素缓慢得多的特征。采用漏盒模型和指数型的路径分布,对这一特征作了详细的传播计算,根据锰54的衰变,给出了确定宇宙线年龄的方法。Abstract: This paper presents a way to determine the age of cosmic rays in the galaxy by using the data on the ratio of the abundance of manganese to iron from,the Danish-French isotope instrument on board HEAO-3.The leaky-box model and the exponential path-length distribution have been adopted in this paper.
