EFFICIENCY ENHANCEMENT OF MULTI-HEADED Ge SYSTEM FOR SPACE γ-RAY SPECTROSCOPY

摘要: 在γ谱线天文观测中采用多头锗晶体作为γ谱仪中的中心探测器,以提高探测器的观测灵敏度。本文以一个九头高纯锗探测器系统为实例,用蒙特卡洛模拟方法,分析了入射光子在各晶体中的能损分配和各类效率的比例,给出在几种晶体输出幅度组合相加情况下,探测的全能峰效率可提高的份额。并用较完整的模型对单个晶体的模拟结果与实测结果进行了详细讨论。Abstract: In γ-ray line observations the multi-headed Ge crystal system is used for improving spectrometer's sensitivity.In this paper Monte-Carlo simulations have been made to investigate the performance for a 9-headed Ge cluster.The loss energy spectra distributions in the crystals,detective efficiencies,full energy efficiencies and their increases under some different combinations of crystals' outputs have been presented.Measurements in the laboratory with an actual detector shows good agreements with simulations.
