  • In this paper a multi-step model is suggested to explain the observed acceleration o f a particles in the solar wind. The entire process starts in reconnection region in the lower coronal hole and continues in the interplanetary space down to 0.3 AU. It is proposes that the observed acceleration is attributed to the interaction between the α particles with intrinsic and excited ultra-low-frequency waves in the solar wind.
